Cross-course grade disclosure and modification via unchecked IDs
Published Nov 18, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Autolab 3.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to view or edit grades for submissions in other courses. Five grading-controller endpoints accept submission IDs and authorize only the course in the URL, without checking that each submission belongs to that course. Course-assistant access to any course is sufficient to read or alter grades tied to another course when a submission ID is known.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
