Stored XSS via unencoded service descriptions
Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Stored XSS in LibreNMS before 24.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in other users' sessions via service descriptions. The Services page in includes/html/pages/device/services.inc.php inserts service_desc into HTML without entity encoding, so a stored descr value becomes executable markup. An authenticated user must add a service through the device edit workflow, and another user must open its Services tab; execution can expose session data or perform actions with that viewer's privileges.
