Credential disclosure via untyped external-storage password
Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Information disclosure in Nextcloud Server allows attackers with an active user session to read fixed external-storage credentials through its API. The OwnCloud external-storage backend fails to type its password definition as a password value, causing the API to serialize the fixed credential back to the frontend. Exploitation requires a user- or administrator-defined external storage using fixed credentials; the resulting impact is limited to credential disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
