Restricted-file disclosure via unchecked cross-storage copy
Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Access-control bypass in Nextcloud Server 27.0.0 through 27.1.8 and 28.0.0 through 28.0.4 lets remote authenticated users copy restricted folders. The canDoCrossStorageMove method treats the Files Access Control storage wrapper as local storage, taking a direct-copy path that omits recursive permission checks. A recipient must receive a share containing blocked files and initiate a cross-storage folder copy; resulting file access still depends on the configured access-control rules.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
