CVE-2024-52513Network attack vector

Protected attachment disclosure via incomplete share checks

Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

Information exposure in affected Nextcloud Server releases allows remote attackers to download protected Text attachments through shared links. The Text app's SessionMiddleware accepted a share token when the referenced document merely existed in the owner's files, omitting password-session, read-permission, and download-attribute checks. A recipient must obtain a Files drop or password-protected share link and reference a Text attachment; the resulting access discloses only that attachment.
