Remote service interruption via aborted file transfer

Improper exception handling in Siemens SIPROTEC 4 and 4 Compact devices allows remote attackers to force a restart through file transfers. The file-transfer handler fails to recover when an operation is interrupted, leaving the device in a denial-of-service state. No authentication or user interaction is required, and normal operation remains unavailable until the device is restarted.
