CVE-2024-52337Public exploit

Log spoofing via unsanitized D-Bus instance name

Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Jun 26, 2026

Log injection in Red Hat TuneD 2.23.0 through 2.24.0 allows local users to spoof administrative output through a crafted instance name. The D-Bus instance_create method accepts newline and terminal-control characters in instance_name, then writes the value to logs and returns it through get_instances. A locally logged-in user can add plausible log entries or alter a viewer's terminal display when an administrator or utility later consumes the stored name.
