CVE-2024-52331Network attack vector

Malicious firmware installation via deterministic encryption key

Published Jan 23, 2025 · Updated Oct 2, 2025

Firmware integrity failure in ECOVACS robots allows remote attackers to install malicious firmware through the update channel. The updater decrypts unsigned firmware with AES-128-CBC material deterministically derived from device and image metadata, allowing crafted images to pass decryption. Exploitation requires delivery through an update path, and installed code can persistently control the robot.
