CVE-2024-52280Network attack vector

Authenticated object disclosure via admin-client watches

Published Apr 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 11, 2025

Information disclosure in SUSE Rancher before 2175e09, 6e30359, or c744f0b allows remote authenticated users to read unauthorized objects. A single-ID Steve API watch constructs a direct partition and uses the administrative client instead of a client impersonating the requester, bypassing object-level authorization. Generic permission on the resource type is sufficient to expose secrets across namespaces, with no reported write or service-interruption capability.
