Authenticated service crash via unchecked password copy
Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC6V2 through 15.03.06.50 allows remote authenticated users to crash its web service via a crafted POST request. The fromWizardHandle handler passes the PPW request value to decodePwd, which copies it into a stack buffer without checking its length. Access to the web management interface is required, and corrupted stack data reaches atoi and terminates the service.
