CVE-2024-52270Known exploitationPublic exploit

Document content spoofing via unflattened PDF layers

Published Dec 5, 2024 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

UI misrepresentation in Dropbox Sign through 2024-12-04 allows attackers to spoof signed PDF content through inconsistent layer rendering. The service preview and downloaded print rendering handle PDF layers inconsistently: content hidden during signing becomes visible when the file is printed. Exploitation requires a crafted layered PDF and passive user interaction; the bounded impact is deceptive document content, not data disclosure or service interruption.
