CVE-2024-52062

Application corruption or crash via XML stack overflow

Published Dec 13, 2024 · Updated Feb 7, 2025

Stack buffer overflow in affected RTI Connext Professional Core Libraries allows local users to corrupt or crash XML-loading applications. The XML type parser copies attacker-controlled document data beyond a stack buffer while Core Libraries load type definitions. Exploitation requires write access to a Connext XML configuration file; Routing Service remote administration can initiate loading only when a malicious include file already exists locally.
