Application memory corruption via malformed identity certificate
Published Dec 13, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2025
Heap buffer overflow in affected RTI Connext Professional Security Plugins allows local users to corrupt application memory via a certificate. DomainParticipant creation miscalculates or inadequately bounds a heap copy while processing a malformed on-disk identity certificate. Exploitation requires certificate-file write access and simplified-certificate propagation enabled or unset; on 64-bit systems, only the OpenSSL plugin is affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
