CVE-2024-52056Network attack vector

Administrator directory deletion via traversing application names

Published Nov 21, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024

Path traversal in Wowza Streaming Engine Manager before 4.9.1 allows remote authenticated users to delete host directories. The application-deletion REST API accepts traversal and special characters in an application name, then resolves that name outside the intended application directory. Administrator privileges and an XML definition file in the target directory are required; deletion can remove arbitrary directories and interrupt service.
