Administrator account hijacking via unescaped log text
Published Nov 21, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
Stored XSS in Wowza Streaming Engine Manager before 4.9.1 allows remote attackers to hijack administrator accounts through the dashboard. Application logs store user-generated text without escaping it, and Manager renders that text directly as HTML in the web dashboard. No authentication is required to plant the payload, but an administrator must view the poisoned dashboard before the script runs in that browser session.
