CVE-2024-52052Network attack vector

Privileged code execution via unchecked stream target path

Published Nov 21, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024

Code injection in Wowza Streaming Engine 4.3.0 through 4.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root or LocalSystem. The stream-target map writer trusts the pushPublishMapPath property, allowing generated content to be placed in the Manager directory with a server-executable extension. Streaming Engine administrator privileges are required, and successful exploitation grants full host control on Linux or Windows.
