CVE-2024-52022

Adjacent authenticated command execution via apmode_gateway injection

Published Nov 5, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024

Command injection in NETGEAR R8500, XR300, R7000P, and R6400 v2 firmware allows adjacent authenticated users to execute OS commands. The wlg_adv.cgi handler incorporates attacker-controlled apmode_gateway data into an operating-system command without effective neutralization. Access to the router's adjacent administrative interface is required; successful exploitation grants command execution with the firmware's operating privileges.
