CVE-2024-52004Network attack vector

Authenticated command injection via uploaded filenames

Published Nov 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024

Command injection in MediaCMS before 4.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through uploaded media filenames. Media-processing tasks interpolate stored paths into shell command strings for FFmpeg, MP4HLS, and cp, while the uploader accepts shell metacharacters in filenames. A registered user needs upload permission, enabled for all registered users by default, and successful processing executes commands with the worker's privileges.
