Stored script execution via unsanitized image template
Published Sep 29, 2025 · Updated Sep 29, 2025
Stored XSS in Postie before 1.9.71 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to inject scripts through image settings. The image custom-template setting stores markup without adequate input sanitization or output escaping and renders it when the settings page is viewed. Administrator access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite sites or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; viewing the affected settings page executes the stored script in that user's browser.
