CVE-2024-51997Network attack vector

Attestation claim forgery via replaceable token key

Published Nov 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024

Improper authentication in Confidential Containers Trustee before 0.8.2 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to forge accepted ART tokens. The verifier accepts an attacker-replaced jwk claim, letting a substituted public key validate a token signed with the attacker's private key. Network interception and low privileges are required; successful forgery permits undetected changes to attestation claims and can expose secrets protected with tee-pubkey.
