Arbitrary file writes via path-traversing Git objects
Published Nov 7, 2024 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Path traversal in Jujutsu before 0.23.0 allows remote attackers to write files outside a clone via a crafted Git repository. During jj git clone, checkout accepts Git file objects whose paths contain parent-directory components and writes them beyond the worktree. Exploitation requires cloning an attacker-controlled repository and permits writes wherever the Jujutsu process has filesystem access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
