Stored XSS via unsanitized Viewport Images mutation

Published Feb 20, 2026 · Updated Feb 20, 2026

Stored XSS in LiteSpeed Cache for WordPress 6.5.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject JavaScript into posts. Viewport Images processing applies an Editor-supplied DOM mutation from per-post LiteSpeed Options without neutralizing embedded script content. Exploitation requires Editor access, post-creation and LiteSpeed Options permissions, Lazy Load Images and Viewport Images enabled, and Optimize for Guests Only disabled; the script runs when another user visits the post.
