Path traversal in ONNX before 1.16.2 allows remote attackers to overwrite arbitrary files through a malicious model tar archive. The download_model_with_test_data function passes archive members to tarfile extraction without reliably confining absolute or traversal paths to the destination directory. Exploitation requires a process to download and extract attacker-controlled model test data; writes inherit that process's permissions and can replace sensitive files or interrupt applications.
