CVE-2024-5185

Model data poisoning via cross-origin upload

Published May 29, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024

Cross-site request forgery in SamurAIGPT EmbedAI's main branch allows attackers to poison model data through a malicious webpage. Absent secure session management and weak CORS policies let the cross-origin page submit an upload that EmbedAI accepts and integrates into its language model. A user must visit the attacker-controlled page; successful submission can introduce misinformation, bias, degraded performance, or denial of service.
