Authenticated service crash via malformed ACL selector
Published Jan 6, 2025 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Improper input validation in Redis 7.0.0 through 7.2.6 and 7.4.0 through 7.4.1 allows local users to trigger a server panic. ACL selector handling accepts a malformed selector and later accesses the invalid state instead of rejecting it, invoking the panic path. An authenticated user needs sufficient ACL privileges to create the selector; accessing it then crashes Redis and interrupts service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
