CVE-2024-51737

Authenticated RCE via unchecked LIMIT and KNN bounds

Published Jan 8, 2025 · Updated Jan 8, 2025

Integer overflow in affected Redis RediSearch 2.x releases allows remote authenticated users to execute code via crafted LIMIT or KNN arguments. The query and aggregation paths accept oversized LIMIT offsets and counts or KNN K values, and subsequent size calculations wrap before heap writes. Exploitation requires authenticated Redis access and affected-command permission; successful heap corruption executes code in the Redis server context.
