Stored XSS via unescaped widget width
Published Jun 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in the Video Widget WordPress plugin through 1.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via widget settings. The widget update path stores a crafted width value without sanitization, and widget rendering emits that value without output escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and the scripts execute when another user views the affected widget, including where unfiltered_html is disabled.
