Authenticated stored XSS via unescaped shortcode input
Published Nov 9, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Stored XSS in designerken Reftagger Shortcode 1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts into pages. The shortcode rendering path inadequately sanitizes input and escapes output, causing attacker-controlled shortcode data to be stored and returned as executable markup. Contributor-level access is required, and the script executes when another user opens an injected page, exposing that browser session to attacker-controlled actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
