Unauthenticated command execution via statusfile shell metacharacters
Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Command injection in CyberPanel 2.3.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through an unauthenticated endpoint. The upgrademysqlstatus view concatenates the statusfile JSON property into a privileged sudo cat shell command, while secMiddleware checks only POST requests and can be bypassed. No account or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants command execution on the hosting server.
