CVE-2024-51562Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Guest process-memory disclosure via NVMe length underflow

Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in FreeBSD bhyve allows guest OS users to disclose bhyve process memory through a crafted NVMe log request. In nvme_opc_get_log_page, an unchecked guest-controlled log offset can exceed the requested log size, underflowing logsize - logoff and copying data beyond the selected log page. Exploitation requires control of a bhyve guest configured with an emulated NVMe device and exposes function pointers, heap addresses, and adjacent allocations.
