Unauthenticated device access via unchanged default password
Published Dec 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2025
Default-password exposure in ABB ASPECT-Enterprise, NEXUS, and MATRIX 3.07.02 and earlier allows remote attackers to access devices. The installation workflow does not require the factory default password to be replaced, leaving a publicly known credential valid. Exploitation requires network access to a device whose installer left that password unchanged and grants access to the device interface.
