Unauthenticated device access via plaintext firmware credentials
Published Feb 6, 2025 · Updated May 23, 2025
Hard-coded credentials in ABB ASPECT firmware through 3.* allow remote attackers to access ASPECT-Enterprise, NEXUS, and MATRIX devices. The firmware stores several credentials used internally by the products as plaintext, permitting their recovery and reuse against device services. Reachability requires access to the ASPECT network segment; ABB states that conforming deployments are not exposed directly to the internet.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
