CVE-2024-51529

Local service interruption through improper battery-data validation

Published Nov 5, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024

Improper input validation in the HarmonyOS battery module allows local users to interrupt device functions through crafted battery data. Huawei has not disclosed the battery-module locus, accepted data format, or validation operation that mishandles the input. Exploitation requires low local privileges and no user interaction; the documented consequence is loss of function stability, with no confidentiality or integrity impact.
