Administrator stored XSS via unescaped Item setting
Published Jul 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in ToolStack SULly before 4.3.1 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute script via an Item setting. The SULly dashboard stores the Item value without sanitizing it and later renders it without escaping, causing supplied HTML event-handler code to run in the browser. An administrator must add the payload, and the flaw remains reachable when unfiltered_html is disabled, including in WordPress multisite installations.
