CVE-2024-51493

API key compromise via missing credential revalidation

Published Nov 5, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024

Authentication bypass in OctoPrint 1.10.2 and earlier allows local users to access or delete API keys through a hijacked browser session. The user and global API-key settings endpoints returned keys and allowed generation or deletion without checking that account credentials had been re-entered recently. A valid victim session is required; a user session exposes its own key, while an administrator session exposes the global key and permits API access or workflow disruption.
