CVE-2024-51488Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthorized message deletion via insufficient CSRF validation

Published Nov 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024

Cross-site request forgery in Ampache before 7.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to delete any user's messages via crafted requests. The delete-message request handler accepts inadequately validated CSRF tokens and performs the requested deletion under the victim's session. A logged-in user must interact with the crafted request; successful exploitation deletes messages, including those sent to administrators.
