CVE-2024-51473Network attack vector

Authenticated server crash via crafted federated query

Published Jul 29, 2025 · Updated Aug 17, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in IBM Db2 federated server 10.5, 11.1, 11.5, and 12.1 releases allows remote authenticated users to crash the server. IBM identifies the flaw in federated query processing but does not disclose the responsible function or unchecked query operation. A valid database account and a specially crafted query are required; successful exploitation terminates the server without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability

Present is not the same as exploitable

Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
