Authenticated code execution via unchecked file upload
Published May 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Vehicle Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to upload arbitrary files. The newdriver.php handler uses attacker-controlled $_FILES data directly to choose the storage path without validating or sanitizing the uploaded file, accepting PHP content labeled image/jpeg. Low-privilege authentication reaches the handler, and successful upload permits server-side command execution.
