SMTP credential disclosure via credential-free server redirection
Published May 23, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024
Missing authentication in certain HP LaserJet Pro printer firmware allows remote authenticated users to disclose stored SMTP credentials. The settings workflow accepts a replacement SMTP destination without requiring the stored SMTP credential to be re-entered. Exploitation requires device-administrator privileges and redirects send-to-email traffic to an attacker-controlled SMTP server.
