Administrator session compromise via unsanitized study UUID
Published Nov 5, 2024 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
Stored XSS in JATOS 3.9.3 study properties allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser. An imported .jas study archive can place unneutralized markup in its UUID field, which the properties view renders as active browser content. The attacker must be able to import a crafted study and induce an administrator to open its properties, enabling actions with the administrator's session.
