Unauthenticated RCE via oversized URI resource
Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in the P2P API service in BS Producten Petcam 33.1.0.0818 allows remote attackers to execute code. The p2pcam binary concatenates an unbounded URI resource with ./html/ in a 260-byte stack buffer, letting an oversized HTTP path overwrite the return address. Access requires LAN reachability or physical proximity to the device's default unauthenticated Local Mode network; demonstrated ROP execution launches a root Telnet service before the process crashes.
