Authenticated script execution via unsanitized profile email
Published Nov 21, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024
Stored XSS in Gibbon Core before 27.0.01 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted profile email. user_manage_editProcess.php stores the email parameter without adequate sanitization, and profile rendering places it in an HTML attribute where an injected event handler runs. A valid account and victim interaction with the affected profile are required; attacker-controlled script executes in the victim's browser context.
