Unencrypted IPC in UltiMaker Cura 5.8.1 and earlier allows local users to alter printing settings and G-code over localhost. Cura and CuraEngine exchange plaintext data over libArcus TCP port 49674 without detecting in-transit modification. Root access and an active slicing job are required; altered commands can disable cooling or otherwise compromise the printed part.
