Database compromise via unescaped registrar search parameter
Published May 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Event Registration System 1.0 allows remote attackers to read or modify data through registrar search. The /registrar/ search handler fails to neutralize quote-delimited input before executing a database query, allowing a conditional SLEEP subquery. The published proof of concept requires no prior session or user interaction and demonstrates blind, time-based query execution against the application database.
