Authenticated database compromise via unescaped event identifier
Published May 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Event Registration System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read or modify data via the e parameter. The registration page embeds the e query value in a MySQL WHERE or HAVING expression without neutralizing quote-delimited SQL syntax, enabling blind and UNION-based queries. Registrar-level access is required; successful exploitation exposes or changes data available to the application's database account.
