CVE-2024-51186Public exploit

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized ping address

Published Nov 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024

Command injection in D-Link DIR-820L firmware 1.05b03 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands via ping_addr. The ping_v4 and ping_v6 handlers use the System Check ping_addr value as command input without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Access to the router's Tools page is required, and successful injection can start a shell listener on port 8000.
