Authenticated command execution via unchecked cmd parameter
Published Nov 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
OS command injection in D-Link DI-8200 Firmware 16.07.26A1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The msp_info_htm function formats the HTTP cmd value with sprintf and passes it to system when flag equals cmd, without restricting the command. Exploitation requires low-privileged access from an adjacent network and permits compromise of gateway confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
