Authenticated code execution via chained shell injection
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
OS command injection in LibreNMS before 24.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through its web portal. PollDevice accepts shell metacharacters in a device hostname when creating an RRD directory, SettingsController permits the snmpget path to reference it, and AboutController passes the assembled value to shell_exec without neutralization. An authenticated account must add a forced device, alter the snmpget setting, invoke or await polling, and visit the About page; successful exploitation runs commands as the LibreNMS service account.
