Administrator takeover via embedded default credentials
Published Nov 18, 2024 · Updated Nov 19, 2024
Weak default credentials in AVSCMS 8.2.0 allow remote attackers to access the administrator account through the network login. The shipped include/config.local.php assigns both admin_name and admin_pass the value admin, so unchanged installations accept a publicly known administrator login. Exploitation requires network access to the login interface and yields the application privileges of the administrator account.
