Service interruption via unchecked apn parameter copy
Published Nov 5, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024
Stack overflow in usbISP_detail_edit.cgi in NETGEAR R7000P firmware 1.3.3.154 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt routing service. The CGI handler copies the attacker-controlled apn POST parameter into a fixed-size stack buffer without enforcing its length. Exploitation requires authenticated access from the adjacent wired or Wi-Fi network, and a crafted request interrupts the router's availability.
